A throw back motif inspired by Colt's early military history with this printed eagle with the CFA of (Colt Fire Arms) in an old english font printed on a vintage feeling "salt & pepper" cotton fabric. Reminiscent of a 1950's sweatshirt, this garment is made from soft loopback cotton-jersey and has a comfortable tailored fit.

This raglan shoulder sweatshirt has a throwback feel with some modern design touches. True connoisseurs will recognize that the raglan sleeve is only present on the front of the garment and that each cuff is finished with a chevron cuff detail.

Made in the USA of 100% cotton with a knit rib collar, cuffs and hem.

Historical Inspiration

All of the motifs in the Colt arsenal are historic logos or modern takes on historic references. These inspirations come from many sources, from Sam Colts use of his family crest for the Colt company or vice versa every element in the collection has a basis in history. The "31 Star" star we use as the design on the fly buttons on a selection of the jeans comes from an American flag with 31 stars referencing the year Colt opened his factory in Hartford.

Even the fonts has a historical basis, the name and city printed on the backs of garments is in a Gothic font originally found engraved on a M1911.

The Serpentine Colt Logo

An obvious omission from our list of logos is the current serpentine logo currently in use on the firearms side of the business. This motif was used mostly in advertisements (in a different version), as early as the 1940s. This brand mark became widely used in during the 1960s.
